Printing Technology
Printing Technology AM/PM
If you find the growing field of communications fascinating, printing may be the career for you. The printing program at GTC is designed to instruct in the method of offset printing. Students will do actual printing as they produce cards, brochures, publications, etc. This is accomplished in a printing lab where students learn to meet deadlines and produce quality printing. Printing Tech is a course intended to give students a broad scope of experience in the skills and process associated in the field that will increase their knowledge and trainability in preparing them for employment in the fields of graphic arts. Job entry-level skills are achieved after completion of this 2 year course.
Printing workers in the industry are employed to produce newspapers, magazines, business forms, advertisements and various communication materials. They set type, make layouts, and paste-ups, do dark room work, make printing plates, complete color separations and reproductions, run presses, and do binding.
